Traditional Telecommunication racks only give you a 17.5” aperture between the uprights, newer, EIA compliant equipment will not fit. Although the hole to hole spacing is the same at 18 5/16”, the upright spacing has to be 17.75”.

They are equal from a performance perspective and a lot stronger than aluminum.
NFR racks are currently available for 19” and 23” equipment in both welded and bolt together versions, also available in 23” with WECO 2” spacing.
This series has recently been updated to include both aluminum and steel options for a lighter weight four post frame.
