Customer Return Policy
It is Newton Instrument Company’s policy to provide complete customer satisfaction. In the event that shipped goods need to be returned to Newton Instrument Company, please refer to the guidelines shown below:
- All return requests shall be mutually agreed to between Newton and the customer. Once agreed to, a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) will be issued. An RGA number must accompany all return shipments to ensure proper credit for the returned products. Credit will be applied towards open invoices only and not processed as a cash refund. Please contact your Newton Customer Service Representative at 919-575-6426 or fax your request to 919-575- 4708, to obtain an RGA number.
- Only parts contained in Newton’s stocking program will be considered for return. Parts that are made-to-order and / or volume priced are not eligible for return.
- In authorizing returns we will take into consideration, current demand, Newton stocking levels, usage history and date of purchase.
- All returned material must be packaged in such a manner as to prevent transit damage.
- Items that need to be repainted / replated will incur additional 10% charge.
- Items that need to be repackaged will incur an additional 10% charge.
- Items that have received a level of damage which will not allow for reprocessing, will be scrapped and the customer notified that no credit will be issued.
- If a customer receives a defective part due to Newton Instrument Company error (i.e. Manufacturing defects or wrong part, etc.) an investigation around fitness for use or shipping error will be conducted. Once confirmed, the part may be returned with the appropriate RGA number freight collect with no restocking charge.

Material returned due to customer error (i.e. wrong part ordered, too many ordered, etc.) will be subject to the following restocking charges:
- Newton Stocking Program items, 20% subject to above conditions upon receipt.
- Freight charges on all returns subject to a restocking charge will be the responsibility of the customer. All shipments should be made prepaid to Newton Instrument Company
- Parts modified or made to customer specifications, including non-stock paint finishes and distribution frames are non-returnable.
- All shipments from Newton are FOB Butner, NC. If Newton product is received damaged due to freight handling, please contact and file a freight damage claim with the carrier.
- Newton Instrument Company will assist in providing a replacement order that will include billing for replacement parts and freight. Credit for the return will be issued after the material has been received and inspected by Newton Instrument Company. Customers are required to wait until they receive the credit memo before deducting it from the payment of future invoices.
